Vilnius, Lithuania – June 5, 2025

Solarexplain, in partnership with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), is proud to host SOLARCHITECTURE Essentials in Vilnius. This one-day course offers a unique opportunity for architects, engineers, and energy professionals to explore the integration of solar technologies into modern building design practically and strategically.

Taking place at the Hilton Garden Inn in central Vilnius, the event brings together international experts and local practitioners for a full day of lectures, case studies, and applied learning. With a growing demand for sustainable and energy-positive buildings, this training is a must-attend for anyone working at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and solar innovation.

What to Expect

SOLARCHITECTURE Essentials is part of SUPSI’s continuing education series focused on Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and solar design integration. The Vilnius edition will offer approximately 16 academic hours of instruction and award 2 ECTS credits to participants who complete the course.

The program covers:

– Fundamentals of BIPV systems and their applications in contemporary architecture
– Real-life challenges related to building codes, fire safety, and installation standards
– Economic and technical feasibility studies of solar building components
– Simulation and design tools used in solar architecture planning
– Insights into emerging trends and best practices from European case studies

Participants will also explore the architectural integration of solar modules in iconic projects such as the Artery Business Center in Vilnius, developed by Studio Libeskind.

Optional Factory Visit

An optional second day (June 6) includes a factory tour at Metsolar, a leading European producer of custom solar panels. Attendees will have a chance to observe the manufacturing process, discuss tailored solutions for BIPV, and see how innovative solar modules are developed for design-specific applications.

Who Should Attend

This course is tailored for professionals and advanced students in the fields of architecture, civil and electrical engineering, urban planning, energy systems, and sustainable design. Whether you’re working on new builds, renovations, or large-scale infrastructure projects, the insights offered during SOLARCHITECTURE Essentials can enhance your ability to integrate renewable energy into your design process.

It is also relevant for:

– Public sector stakeholders managing sustainable urban development
– Developers aiming for energy-positive buildings
– Product and project managers in the solar construction industries
